The Federation’s first horticultural show which took place in August 2014 was so successful that it was decided to make it an annual event. It is a successor to the horticultural element of the Friern Barnet summer show which was discontinued in 2012. Federation allotment holders and their immediate families may enter produce in one or more of over 150 different classes; including vegetables, fruit, cut flowers, potted plants and homemade produce.
The show is held on a Sunday, with time for setting up and staging on the previous day. The judging takes place on the Sunday morning, following which the show is open for viewing, the prizes are awarded and the day ends with an auction of the produce exhibited. Both Barnet allotment holders and the general public are welcome to the viewing.
